During routine investigation 48 young pigeons showed clinically pox nodules of various sizes, solitary to multiple in most of the unfeathered parts of the body. The most common sites were noticed on the eye, foot, wing, elbow joint, around the vent, beak, neck and under the wings. After detail necropsy no lesions in visceral organs could be seen. Histopathological examination showed marked epidermal epithelial hyperplasia, necrosis, hemorrhages and epithelial cells contained intracytoplasmic eosinophilic inclusion bodies (Bollinger bodies).
