A pilot study was conducted to study the influence of chromium picolinate supplementation on egg composition. For the purpose 72 laying hens were divided into 3 treatment groups (T0, T1 and T2) each with 2 replicates of 12 laying hens. Hens of group T0 were provided simple water while those of T1 and T2 were provided water supplemented with chromium picolinate @ 1000 and 2000 ppb chromium. Study period of 12 weeks was divided into 3 phases of 4 weeks duration. At the end of each phase 3 eggs per replicate were used for egg composition in terms of protein and fat content. From the results of the above study it was found that chromium picolinate supplementation increased the egg protein content and decreased the egg fat content during different phases and overall study period.
