An experiment was conducted to study the performance of White Leghorn layer birds on supplementation of yeast culture in layer diets. Seventy-two pullets were equally distributed into 3 groups with 3 replication and eight birds in each replication. The three groups were offered 1) control (basal diet), 2) basal diet + 0.1% yeast culture and 3) basal diet + 0.2% yeast culture for 2 periods of 28 days each. Weekly feed intake, egg production, feed required for 12 eggs and livability were recorded. Feed intake was comparable in all the 3 diets in both the periods. However, increased trend in feed intake was observed in yeast culture supplemented diets. Though the egg production was less in period I, it has increased in period 2. Feed/dozen eggs on yeast supplemented diets was also higher in period 1 but decreased significantly in the period 2. These results indicate that yeast culture supplementation will have positive effect on egg production but the effect will be seen slowly.
