A gross and histo-pathological study was made on the ameliorating effect of dietary supplementation of Emblica officinalis, during experimental aflatoxicosis in broiler chicken. The toxin level was maintained at 300 ppb in feed, while the herb was used in four levels, i.e., 0.10, 0.15, 0.20 and 0.25 per cent. The gross and histo- pathological changes of control- and toxin alone fed groups were compared with those of different levels of E officinalis fed groups. It was observed that feeding aflatoxin severely affected the hepatic and renal tissues while no changes were noticed in the spleen, bursa of Fabricius, heart and proventriculus. However, feeding of dietary E officinalis reversed the damages in liver and kidney tissues and the repairing effect was found to be dependent on the doses of the herb.
