1058 and 547 pullets of IWN and IWP strain from 60 and 50 sire families contributed data for present study. The least squares means for egg production up to 40 (EN 40), 56 (EN 56) and 64 (EN 64) weeks of age were 119.68 ± 0.46, 214.69 ± 0.66 and 259.64 ± 0.84 eggs respectively for IWN strain while same for IWP strain were 113.09 ± 1.03, 197.67 ± 1.64 and 238.36 ± 2.02 eggs. Egg weight at 28 (EW 28), 40 (EW 40), 56 (EW 56) and at 64 (EW 64) weeks of age were 47.45 ± 0.15, 51.60 ± 0.15, 52.36 ± 0.16 and 53.41 ± 0.17 g for IWN strain while 48.71 ± 0.17, 51.28 ± 0.17, 52.94 ± 0.24 and 54.35 ± 0.19 gm for IWP strain respectively. Egg mass production up to 40 (EN 40), 56 (EN 56) and 64 (EN 64) weeks of age were 5.881 ± 0.022, 10.811 ± 0.041 and 13.208 ± 0.054 kg for IWN strain while 5.685 ± 0.051, 10.162 ± 0.087 and 12.373 ± 0.109 kg for IWP strain respectively.

The heritability estimates from sire component of variance for EN 40, EN56 and EN 72 were 0.327 ± 0.095, 0.274 ± 0.087 and 0.242 ± 0.082 (IWN strain) while 0.090 ± 0.087, 0.129 ± 0.094 and 0.142 ± 0.096 (IWP strain) respectively. The h 2 for egg weight at various ages ranged between 0.360 ± 0.100 to 0.635 ± 0.138 and 0.080 ± 0.084 to 0.290 ± 0.122 for IWN and IWP strain respectively whereas, h 2 for egg mass produced up to various ages ranged between 0.325 ± 0.095 to 0.368 ± 0.101 for IWN strain while 0.053 ± 0.079 to 0.131 ± 0.094 for IWP strain. The genetic correlations between egg number and egg weight were strong and in negative direction at all stages except EW 40 and EW 64 in IWP strain. The r g between egg number and egg mass production were strong and in positive direction in both strains at all the stages but they were with high magnitude in IWP strain. Correlation between egg weight and egg mass production were strong and in positive direction in IWN strain while it showed varied magnitude in IWP strain.
