Indication
Prajana with certain modifications is now available under the name OviFertin as Feed Premix for all International markets which has better palatability and bio-availability. The list of research trials continued to be under the original product name.
Composition
Anoestrus or irregular oestrus cycle in cows, buffaloes, sows, sheep, goats, mares and bitches may arise from poor management, any disease or disturbance in endocrine functions. Anoestrus can also be due to ovarian abnormalities or poor uterine development. Failure to manifest oestrus or non-synchronization of ovulation adversely affects the breeding programme. The loss on this account to the livestock owner is definitely greater than the loss caused by any specific or non-specific disease. This arises from the cost of upkeep of dry unproductive animals. Prajana, a non-hormonal and completely herbal preparation (Animal feed complement) is rich in special trienoic fatty acids which the body uses as precursors for prostaglandin biosynthesis. This helps coordinate ovarian functions and thus produce timely oestrus and ovulation. Prajana helps the normal cyclical pattern to bring about release of hormones in a natural way, leading to pregnancy. Use of Prajana greatly helps timely ovulatory oestrus in puber (maiden) gilts and heifers as well as early return to service. Prajana can be used to maintain the reproductive cycle of farm animals of breedable age, at regular rhythm and high pitch. The natural product Prajana which is safe and dependable, is being used increasingly at cattle farms to achieve "One Calf A Year" in a simple and practical way, to reduce the unproductive intercalving period. It helps safe and timely rebreeding of the animals, even in the presence of anoestrus, with significant savings in Vet bills. It has been shown to be useful as a part of the programme to control postpartum and post pubertal anoestrus condition, thereby limiting the possibility of infertility due to ovarian dysfunction such as anoestrus, silent heat, delayed maturity etc. Prajana has also been shown to be useful, when given to mares at the "foal heat" to enhance reproductive success.
