Acute and chronic hypocalcaemia

Preservation and treatment of liver damage due to over dosage with magnesium salts, chlorinated hydrocarbons, carbon tetrachloride and pesticides.

Calcium Borogluconate                          : 25 % w/v
equivalent calcium gluconate B.P.           : 1.854 % w/v
Boric Acid B.P.                                      :  4.25 % w/v
Chlorocresol B. P.                                  :  0.1% w/v

Slow intraenous or subcutaneous injection:
Sheep / goat: 25 - 50 ml slow intravenous injection.

Cattle / Buffalo : 250 - 300 ml per day as a single dose therapy.  In severe case of milk fever the treatment is to be repeated for successive 2 to 3 days.

Precautions
Pain and Swelling may result from subcutaneous administration especially in thin - skinned animals due to hypertonicity of the solution.  Calcium borogluconate injection should be warmed to body temperature and inject.  Intravenous administration should be interrupted occasionally to minimize coronary depression.  Observe aseptic precautions. Use the contents of the bottle on one occasion only.
