| Raksharab vaccine contains tissue culture Rabies virus, CVS strain, produced on BHK21 cell line, and inactivated with aziridine compound. Aluminium hydroxide gel is used as adjuvant. Each ml of Raksharab contains antigen potency > 2.5 I.U. as per the standards specified by WHO.
Raksharab is recommended for immunisation of dogs and other domestic animals against rabies for prophylactic and post-exposure therapy (PET). |

| Vaccination Regimen :
Prophylactic use : At 3 months of age and above. In case primary vaccination is given below 3 months, a booster dose should be given at 3 months age. Post - Exposure Therapy (Pet): 1st dose : On "0" day (the day of first vaccination) 2nd dose : 3rd day 3rd dose : 7th day 4th dose : 14th day 5th dose : 28th day 6th booster dose : 90th day Immunity : Immunity is conferred for a period of 3 years. However, annual vaccination is recommended in endemic areas. 1ml by subcutaneous or intramuscular route. |

| Precautions | ||||
| Vaccinate only healthy animals. Malnutrition, helminth infestation, administration of immunosuppressive agents (like corticosteroids, radiation-therapy) will suppress immune response to the vaccine.
1. Generally no adverse reactions are noticed. 2. Occasionally a transient, palpable nodule may occur at the site of injection. 3.In rare cases hypersensitivity may occur, immediate treatment with antihistaminics is advocated. |
